"Borgo dei Tigli" is an important energy and architectural redevelopment project, which transformed a portion of an ancient house with the characteristic "dead door". Located in a fascinating historical-rural context, the project harmonized environmental sustainability with the conservation of the traditional building heritage. The objective was to reduce the environmental impact and improve energy efficiency, preserving the historical integrity of the building through the adoption of eco-compatible technologies.
The exteriors have been improved with external insulation which ensures significant thermal efficiency, helping to reduce energy consumption and polluting emissions. The interiors were the subject of a new distribution of spaces, with the recovery of the ground floor which created a single integrated environment: entrance, kitchen, dining area and living room revolve around the stairwell. The choice of designer furnishings and the clients' passion for art and design add significant value to the project, giving the interior spaces a contemporary and refined aesthetic.
The attic was recovered and transformed into a multi-purpose open space, offering further versatility and functionality to the home. This bright and welcoming environment lends itself to various activities, enriching the living experience. Furthermore, the double volume created inside gives a sense of openness and brightness, enhanced by modern design elements such as suspended lamps which add a touch of elegance and modernity
The multiplicity of materials used enriches the project: oak parquet, resin for walls, ceramic floors and coverings in porcelain stoneware, solid wood for the ceiling beams, laminated wood roofing, glass parapets, iron structures untreated and the original tiles of the barrel vault of the former dead door. Each material has been chosen to create a harmonious balance between tradition and modernity
