We are happy to share with you the publication of the project of the new Reire offices, signed by our studio, in issue 162 of The Plan. A work that tells our approach to architecture.

An old cellar, a wooden roof with trusses, open and airy spaces with a traditional look: these were the “raw materials” that were used to create the new office building for the Reggio Emilia-based company Reire, specialized in powdered ingredients for the food industry. Designed by GMRT Associati & Cacciavillani, the project enhanced the space both in terms of the size of the rooms and in terms of energy and innovation. One of the first steps was the insertion, inside, of a functional metal structure for the creation of a mezzanine, which thus allowed doubling and maximizing the available space without sacrificing the airiness inherent in the original structure.

Enhancement that also involved the pre-existing wooden trusses: these were integrated with the newly inserted elements, so as to combine tradition and innovation within the same environment, stimulating and functional but always respectful of its past and its history.

The lighting project, created in collaboration with Artemide, integrates natural and artificial light, entering into a relationship with the architectural peculiarities of the site through the choice of optics capable of combining design with the aim of optimizing comfort and productivity throughout the day.

In particular, the optics selected for the workstations guarantee uniform and glare-free lighting, promoting concentration and visual well-being. In the main room, the sequence of wooden trusses is crossed by Funivia, designed by Carlotta de Bevilacqua; this collection, refined and essential in its components, makes freedom its great prerogative: a cable, the light modules and the respective fixing elements are the basic elements for infinite solutions in the most diverse places, without the need for specific systems.
